The Parker-Aguillon-Payne Chapter is located in Northern California and calls Travis AFB their chapter headquarters. The chapter is named after TSgt William Parker, TSgt Felizardo Aguillon, and MSgt Wendell Payne who gave the ultimate sacrifice, their lives, in the defense of their country. They were on board the C-5 Galaxy that crashed after take off, during Operation Baby Lift in South Vietnam, April 1975. We thank their families for allowing us to use their names in association with the loadmaster profession they so proudly and professional represented.

We were the first chapter to form outside the northwest and received our charter in September of 1998. Our chapter holds monthly meetings on the first Tuesday of each month at the Delta Breeze Club (NCO Club) on Travis AFB California at 7:00 PM (1900 Hrs). We have been hosting annual family picnics, Christmas Dinners, and other social events that have provided a great opportunity for us not only to enjoy each other’s camaraderie but also to enjoy being with families. We have a great core of local members that continue to support us and we encourage all loadmasters in Northern California to participate in the Professional Loadmaster Association and our local chapter.

Our annual chapter picnic was held at Lake Solano near Winters CA and we were honored with the presence of Bill and Marion Cannon and appreciate them driving all the way from the State of Washington. What a great day it was with Master Chef Bob Cosgrove preparing some delicious barbequed London broil and all the wonderful side dishes brought by all whom attended. For those that missed this annual event, it was great to spend some time with our fellow loadmasters and their families. It was also great to see some new faces and we encourage them to continue to participate and support our local chapter. We also scheduled a second Dinner Social at the Lotus Thai Restaurant in October. This popular dinner provided a 10 course Thai meal served Asian style, one course at a time. Our annual Christmas Party is scheduled for 6 December at the Travis AFB Museum. Local chapter members please mark your calendars and a flyer will be sent out the middle of November for more information. Our chapter is working on establishing an annual Loadmaster award that will recognize an individual that is currently practicing the loadmaster profession.
