So, you get together with several of your loadmaster friends, talk about the Professional Loadmaster Association, and someone asks, "Hey, why don't we start a Chapter?" Someone else replies, "Great idea, but where do we start?" Well, you have already made a great start! This page, with links, will help you follow through with starting a local Chapter.

First, there are some ground rules. You must have a minimum of 20 PLA members to start a chapter. You need a core group willing to "take the bull by the horns" and provide the leadership to make it happen. Do not get a bank account until you get your Charter (constitution) from national. This is normally presented by the president or one of the Vice-Presidents at a dinner. Use the links provided and remember to advertise in local and base papers to help spread the word. Also, use flyers for in squadrons! GOOD LUCK!

Use the following samples/guides for help. This should help get you started. Your base might have some different "twists" for on-base organizations but I'm sure you will overcome obstacles. Good luck and call/email if any troubles!
